fabric bands pulled over a brass frame
the reising pendant uses fabric bands fitted over a solid brass frame to create a layered architectural light fixture. The piece is a made of interconnected brass rods with a facetted form created by pulling fabric bands over the rods. The invisibly bound fabric edges give a paper-thin effect complimented by the extended rod ends. The fabric bands are locked into the rods they wrap over to maintain a tight fit. The four standard E26 lamp holders are blocked from direct view by a second vertical fabric layer attached to the inside of the frame. A recessed frosted glass diffuser beneath prevents any bottom view of the lamps. The dimensions are 51” x 32” x 17.5”H. The choice of fabric can be customized (the material shown is Maharam Transmit).
